Bay Area-based and led by singer/songwriter “Bing” Richard Collora, The Bingtones are a hard driving band with a long musical pedigree, blending R&B, Funk, Rock and Pop into a dancing stew of all original, funky music.
The band’s musical influences include Chicago and Tower of Power horns, Bruce Hornsby keys, Marvin Gaye and Frank Sinatra, with a little Santana and Earth, Wind & Fire thrown in for luck.
In the summer of 2005, marked the release of Bing's debut album, American Dream featuring fresh, memorable tunes filled with moment-after-moment of heartfelt, inspirational sounds. An all-star San Francisco Bay Area's "Who's Who" has been assemble to form The Bingtones, as Bing joins forces with former members of Santana, Boz Scaggs, Etta James, Cold Blood and Keepers of the Golden Heart to create a remarkable blend of dedicated musicians.
In concert, The Bingtones deliver with sensational performances and unshakable grooves. Fronted by Bing and anchored by seasoned veteran drummer/co-producer Jerry Pellizzer, The Bingtones create a rich yet tight sound, with R&B funk grooves and luscious horn arrangements. Finished with top notch vocal harmonies and lyrics, Bing and The Bingtones have crafted the ultimate in listening pleasure.
The band's vibe is definitely old school, yet hip like your father's Oldsmobile. But this ride and sounds are pimped out!
